USP Project – T3E_Phase2

Teras Millennium Sdn Bhd was awarded 3 Clusters by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for the Time 3 Extension Phase 2 Project under the Universal Service Provision (USP) programme. Time 3 Extension project is a continuation of the existing Cellular Coverage Expansion initiative. The project is an initiative to expand the geographical cellular coverage across the country. It involves the construction of new telecommunication towers since 2010. A total of 1,000 telecommunication towers have been planned in rural and remote areas with a population density of 80 persons per square kilometre. Apart from the rural areas, Time 3 Extension telecommunication towers will be built in tourist areas and along major highways throughout the countries. Time 3 Extension is expected to improve the national cellular population coverage to 97%.

Whilst Time 1 and Time 2 telecommunication towers were carried out on a commercial basis by telecommunication companies, Time 3 telecommunication towers are fully funded by the USP Fund.

Teras Milennium was awarded for Cluster 4 (N.Sembilan) , Cluster 22 (Perak) and Cluster 30 (Sabah) in 2015. A total of 32 telecommunication towers were built for these 3 clusters. The project was kicked off on February 2016. The project has been completed and hand over to MCMC & Part 2 (Telcos).
